Since emigrating from Iran at the age of 18, Nazanin Ezazi has completed her Masters in Musicology at the Universität Wien, and is presently obtaining her Doctorate. In 2007 she began vocal studies in the area of ’concert’’ singing under the guidance of Prof. Margit Klaushofer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst. As a student she has gained experience singing Despina as well as Susanna and Barbarina in conservatory productions, and in early 2010 performed the role of Lili in a production of Mendelssohn’s Walpurgisnächtliche Traum at the Schönbrunn Schlosstheater.  She was also heard as the soprano soloist in Händels’s Israel in Egypt under the direction of Hannes Fromhund, and in Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht with A. Glassner. The young artist has appeared in numerous private concerts under the auspices of Bank Austria in Innsbruck and Vienna. She is also member of a trio of ‘’The Three Iranian Sopranos’’ which has performed concerts in Austria and Canada. In 2008/2009 Ms. Ezazi was a chorus member of the Salzburg Festival and sang in productions of L. Nono’s Al gran sole carico d’amore  under the direction of I. Metzmacher, and in Rossini’s Moses et Pharaon with Riccardo Muti in a J. Flimm production.

Nazanin Ezazi was a finalist in the 29th Hans Gabor International Singing Competition in Vienna and was also awarded the prestigious Media Prize.
