Canadian mezzo-soprano Lysianne Tremblay studied piano at Laval University in Canada before beginning her vocal studies under Therese Sevadjian at McGill and with Edith Wiens at the Musikhochschule Augsburg-Nürnberg, and received degrees in linguistics and literature. She also received stipends from the Quebec Council and the JMC Foundation for Young Singers in 2005/2006.
Ms. Tremblay is the winner of multiple singing competitions, including 1st Prize of the Canadian Music, Syllerie and CBC Broadcast Competitions. She subsequently performed a highly acclaimed liederabend, which was broadcast live on Canadian radio.
The artist made her stage debut as Hänsel in Humperdincks „Hansel und Gretel“ a role she performed on a 2-year tour throughout Canada. Since 2005 Ms. Tremblay has been a member of the ensemble at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck under the Intendanz of KS Brigitte Fassbaender.
Since joining the ensemble in Innsbruck, Ms. Tremblay has appeared in many lead roles of her fach (Cherubino, Dorabella, Orlovsky, Olga, Lola, Stephano) and has collaborated with renowed conductors such as Dietfried Bernet, Sascha Goetzel, Emmanuel Joël, Cornelius Meister und Max Pommer. Highlights of 2008/09 include appearances as Niklaus in The Tales of Hoffmann, Flosshilde in Rheingold and Maddalena in Rigoletto.
Ms. Tremblay is a regular guest on the concert stage and has sung at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Internationalen Bodensee Festival and Attersee Klassik Festival, to name a few. She recently made her Gustave Mahler « Das Lied von der Erde» debut to great acclaim, in a collaboration with the Kuopio Symphonie-Orchester under the baton of Sascha Goetzel in Finland. In May 2009 the artist makes her
Vienna Musikverein debut with musicians of the Vienna Philharmonic with Resphighi’s « Il Tramonto ».
Soon thereafter Ms. Tremblay will appear as Dorabella in a new production of Cosi Fan Tutte at the Attersee Klassik Festival 2009.
The multi-faceted work of the young artist can be heard on her extensive CD/DVD and radio recordings.
