Hagar Sharvit, 24, mezzo-soprano, recent graduate of the vocal department of the Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv University, was heard in September 2010 in the Sound of Genesis, by composer Moshe Sorman with the Ramat-Gan Orchestra conducted by Aviv Ron in a production by Daniel Erlich. She will also be heard in a concert at the the Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival with arias and duets and in another concert of Pergolesi’s Magnificat and Vivaldi’s Gloria and Dixit Dominus.

Ms. Sharvit is currently participating in the Centro de Perfeccionamiento Placido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia. She made her debut at that theater in Menotti's Amelia al Ballo in July 2011 under the baton of Placido Domingo in a production by Jean-Louis Grinda. The young artist was also a finalist at the 2nd annual Antonio Cesti Singing Competition at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music.

In November the young mezzo sang the sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with the Baroquade Orchestra and Opera Camera at the Abu Gosh Festival in Israel, with further performances in Kfar, Tel-Aviv, and Haifa. Ms. Sharvit will also sing J.M. Haydens Missa sub titulo sancti Leopoldi with the Moran Singers Ensemble and the Jerusalem Camerata Orchestra. In January 2011 she will sing A. Scarlatti’s Hagar and Ismael in a staged veriosn with the Austrian Baroque Connection at the Abu Gosh Festival at Yearim Church and in Haifa.

Ms. Sharvit has performed in many recitals and concerts, often as a representative of the Buchman-Mehta School. She was the 2nd prize winner of the "Clairmont" Academy Singing competition in 2008 and 2010.

The artist has also performed as a soloist with a variety of orchestras such as The Israel Camerata Jerusalem Orchestra, Buchman-Mehta school orchestra of TAU, The Israel Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva Orchestra, The Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Israel "Stage" Orchestra. She has also worked under distinguished conductors: Avner Biron, Doron Salomon, Naomi Faran, Xu Yi-An , Talia Ilan, Yoav Talmi, Aharon Harlap, Yishai Steckler, Ronen Broshevsky, Daniel Cohen, Ze'ev Dorman, Aviv Ron and Avner Itai.

Ms. Sharvit participated in Master classes with the singers Prof. Mira Zakai, Rita Dams, Daniel Johanson, and with the conductors Philip Thorby and Dan Ettinger. Since 2004 the artist has been a member of the Moran's singer ensemble and performed with the group as a soloist in Israel and abroad (Vox Pacis Festival, Sweden 2008, Tour in California, USA, 2009) and in the Abu Gosh Festival (2005-2009) This summer the young artist participated in the 2010 IVAI, the international Opera summer program in Tel- Aviv Yafo, under the artistic direction of Joan Dornmann of New York Metropolitan opera.
